See ya’ there!

Angelique, (I know her as Angie), is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. She’s an artist, a writer, a publisher, a teacher, a web designer, and I’m sure she wears many other hats that I haven’t mentioned here. Angie founded the Pagan Writers Community and is working on her Third Degree from the Family Wiccan Traditions International. Wheew! I’m blown away with her energy. This is one smart and very busy girl.

I first met Angie and her husband, Scott, when she and her friend Tricia signed up to work as vendors at our center. Angie creates beautiful art on the computer that is absolutely incredible and brought it to sell at the fairs. She was sweet enough to donate many of her pictures to one of our benefits.

Angie has a web page over at  The Examiner where she writes tons of great articles – one of them an interview with me! I was honored that she asked me. Angie has also started her own new blog. I love reading her stuff. This girl is good! I totally enjoyed her “Why Do You Write? because I feel the same way. Also enjoyed Re-Learning How to Eat.  But Angie… I don’t know how you’re going to live without ketchup. Is there really such a thing as  life without ketchup????

While we’re there, we’ll be meeting up with psychic/medium John Cappello .  John visited us at the center this week while he was in Houston to talk about offering a psychic reading gallery (similar to how psychic John Edward does his on the TV show, Crossing Over) every few months. 

It was so funny. John called last week and he says, “I don’t know if you and Chris remember me or not, but when you guys had your ghost conference a few years ago, I was one of your speakers.” I had to laugh. I told him that Chris had just mentioned his name a couple of days ago and was wondering if John would be interested in coming to the center to offer some events. Hmmmm…. maybe John is psychic!  Anyway, we’re sure looking forward to having John at the center. I know his galleries will be hugely popular!!  Look for the first one to be held on Saturday, July 17th. Come and bring your friends and family. You never know…. you just might hear from your loved ones on the other side!!!

I didn’t know it when I was growing up, but I was blessed to have the best dad a girl could have. He wasn’t a perfect man, but he was the perfect dad for me. And believe me, I gave him every single gray hair he earned on his head.

When I was about 8 years old, Dad brought home a gift for me. It was a book. Donna Parker at Cherrydale. (Similar to the Nancy Drew mystery series). I read it voraciously from cover to cover. He had no idea that he was the catalyst of my lifelong obsession and love of reading.

Dad loved humor.  He would always have a silly joke to tell that would make the entire family groan. Every Christmas Chris and I would try to come up with the perfect surprise gag gift for him. Here he is modeling a duck head hat when he came to visit us after he and mom moved to Montana.

When Dad passed away, I was fortunate to be emeshed in the paranormal. Our investigations and study helped me see evidence over and over that we really do live on after we die.  It was the only thing that helped me cope with letting him go.

On the last day of Dad’s life, I sat on his hospital bed next to him as he lay in a coma. I told him how much I loved him and how proud and blessed I was that he’d been my dad. I told him it was okay to go. We’d be fine here and he didn’t have to worry about leaving us. But I did ask him to make me a promise. I asked him to promise me that once he got “over there”, if there were any way possible, to please be a spirit guide for me. My hope was, that by asking him to do that, it would keep him near me all the time as I made my way through the rest of my life without him.

A month or two later I was emailing back and forth with a medium I’d met online in a psychic development group who was trying to perfect her skills by giving free readings long distance. I asked her to give me a reading, longing to hear from my dad, of course.  I didn’t tell her who I wanted to connect with, or even whether it was man or woman. She had no way of knowing that I’d recently lost my father. We’d never discussed it by email. We’d never even talked on the phone.

The day of the reading she gave me a call and thanked me for giving her the opportunity to work at giving long distance readings. She began by telling me of a male figure who was coming through. Dark hair, medium complexion. He was so funny! A man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a nice looking guy. Someone who loved me and was with me a lot. She told me he was very busy over there where he was. I asked her what he was busy doing. I’ll never forget her reply.

She laughed and told me she didn’t quite understand what he meant, but she relayed the message, “he said to tell you he’s been very busy going to spirit guide school.”

Kids will be kids....

Remember when you were a kid and your mom pulled the sheets out of the dryer? 

There was nothing more fun than jumping into the middle of that big pile of sheets and wallowing in the warmth.  Yummy!  Almost as good as comfort food!!

Now on the opposite side of warm sheets, I’ve had some menopausal women tell me there’s nothing quite like wallowing on a cold tile floor during a hot flash!

I decided to start a blog because I’m not very efficient with Facebook, Twitter or My Space so here goes!

Hope you enjoy the metaphysical and not so metaphysical meanderings here in our new blog. I thought this might be a good way to keep everyone up to date with new happenings around the center and might even amuse you with just random thoughts, ideas, vents, pics, video and even some silliness (personal or business) as it occurs

I have a lot of stuff to talk to you about but I think I’ll start with something relaxing…

Last week, Selena Hodges, one of our newest Spirit Quest Center practitioners asked me if I’d like to experience an Access Bar session. You don’t have to ask me twice! You better believe I would!

Selena describes the Access Bars healing session as an  energetic hands on the head process which brings relief in the form of pain, stress and belief limitations release. A sort of massage if you will, without having to take your clothes off. Since there’s no way I’m taking my clothes off in front of ANYONE it sounded like exactly what I needed after the week I’d had.

I’ve never experienced an Access Bars session so I didn’t know quite what to expect when I got on the table. But I can tell you it was absolutely, delightfully wonderful. As Selena worked on me, she’d touch different parts of my head and I could feel her hands getting warmer and warmer as a result of the energy she was running.  I not only felt the healing energy in my head, but also through my entire body as if the energy were streaming through each meridian connecting my head to my toes.

I haven’t been that relaxed in a long time. All my muscles let go of tension and I went to a place of “zen”.  Sometimes it’s hard for me to just let go and relax with all the stuff going on in my head, but this was the closest I came in a while. When the session was over, I thought poor Selena was going to have to kick me off the table. I finally got my wits back about me and got off the table but for a while there I felt like my body was still floating.  Ahhhh…
